Women & Infant Health

Women & Infant Health at Virginia Hospital Center delivers more than 3,000 babies every year. Every mother has a private, comfortable room that provides a warm and intimate atmosphere. All mothers and babies receive the personal attention they deserve.  Fathers and other family members are always welcome. Mothers have the freedom to have their baby stay in the room with them, or stay in the nursery, whenever they wish.

Women & Infant Health offers much more than comfort. We also utilize the latest medical technology and provide the highest quality medical services available. Our Maternal-Fetal Health program provides advanced testing and treatment for high-risk pregnancies. Once a mother is here to deliver, she has round-the-clock access to expert attention from attending house physicians and neonatologists on hand 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is staffed by specially trained caregivers and equipped with the latest in medical technology, so that premature infants and other newborns with special needs may receive optimum care.

We maintain these same high standards not only for mothers and babies, but for all of our patients at Virginia Hospital Center. From our gynecologic surgery unit to the Women's Imaging Center to Urogynecology and Pelvic Surgery at Virginia Hospital Center, we ensure that all patients receive superior medical treatment as well as comfort, privacy and personal attention.
